Edgar Road To Be Renamed The High Street
With accusations that Elgin toon centre is turning into a ghost town, the cooncil is preparing a new parking strategy. With an online survey that asks questions no one wants to answer or fill in they hope to find out what everyone already knows. But the Neep has discovered through midnight seances in the abandoned shops, that the cooncil already has a plan.
Free parking is a no no due to the need for loads of coins to feed the cooncillors chipshop bandit addiction. So a radical plan is soon to come into action that will once and for all solve the problem of naebody goin up the toon.
They are to rename Edgar Road the ‘High Street ‘, every Saturday the High Street will be full of cars piling into the free retail carparks ootside Asda,Currys,Matalan etc.
To make sure this plan works the old toon centre carparks will actually have a price increase to force even more folk to the new High Street. “Fowk will no longer be able to moan aboot the state of the high street once its busy again”, boasted a cooncil insider.
